MINISTRY OF WATER RESOURCES CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY

Under the patronage of H.E. the Minister of Water Resources Eng.Mohanad Al-Sady and under the theme ((We belong to women and celebrate her )) , Ministry of Water Resources celebrated (( International Women’s Day )). The celebration began  with a speech of the Liaison of High Commission of Program to Raise Iraqi Woman )).

MINISTER OF WATER RESOURCES HEADS TECHNICAL DELEGATION TO MEDRID

H.E. Minister of Water Resources Eng.Mohanad Al-Sady headed technical delegation to Madrid .The aim of the visit is to meet officials and be acquainted of modern techniques in the field of pumps manufacture and water resources projects .

MINISTRY OF WATER RESOURCES CELEBRATES ARAB WATER DAY

Under the patronage of Minister of Water Resources, Eng.Mohanad Al-Sady and under the title (Water is our Life and Future of our Generation Lets Work together on its Sustainability)). Ministry of Water Resources celebrated   Arab Water Day. The celebration began with a speech delivered by Mr.  Mohammed Dhari Al-Shabili Ministers advisor on behalf of Minister of Water Resources. He affirmed that water issue in Arab Homeland is very important because of its limited water resources which are estimated 338Billion/m3, most of them coming from Non-Arabic countries.

GENERAL COMMISSION FOR GROUNDWATER DECLARS ANNAUL PLAN FOR 2014

The General Commission for Groundwater declared its  annual plan for 2014which includes drilling 1300 wells in all governorates and as follow:.

  • 120 wells in Al-Anbar governorate.

PRESS STATEMENT

H.E. the Minister of Water Resources Eng.Mohanad AL-Sady declared that the Ministry is following up daily rain water quantities through satellite images in Tigris and Euphrates basins, affirming that the available data in the ministry assures that the snow quantities in this year are less than previous years.  No risks of flood during spring season. H.E.

Executing Operational-test for Several Floating Water-pumps

    The technical and engineering staff in the Ministry of Water Resources, General Commission for Operating Irrigation and Drainage Projects is executing operational-test for some of the floating water-pumps. Those water-pumps are don't need a concrete base and rooftop, and also it can be used normally during the process of increasing or decreasing water levels. Also, they don't need a space which requires filling it with water, to operate.

Executing Project of lining 9 Nissan Canal

     The technical and engineering staff in the Ministry of Water Resources, General Commission for Operating Irrigation and Drainage Projects executed works of lining 9 Nissan  Canal. It is one of the strategic projects which lies within Baghdad governorate. The project serves an area that include Al-Jessir, Al-Nahrawan and Al-Wihdah districts, and aims at reducing water losses and encourage optimal water use. Moreover, the area is estimated 88000 donum.

Reclaiming Shutt Al-Basrah Regulator

The technical and engineering staff in the Ministry of Water Resources and under the supervision of General Directorate of Main outfall, Al-Iraq General company is executing rehabilitation works for Shutt Al-Basrah regulator. The project works aim is to discharge Main outfall water in Shutt Al-Basrah and then the water goes into khor Abidullah in the Arabian Gulf.

Ministry of Water Resources participate in the Sixth Agricultural Week in Baghdad International Fair

     In coordination with Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Water Resources participated in the preparation works of the agricultural week. Also, participated in the Tree day celebration from 15-21\3\2014. It is held with the slogan "Let us make Iraq a Green Oasis".

Ministry of Water Resources dredges Kormatt Hassan Section of Euphrates in Thi-Qar Governorate

    The technical and Engineering staff in the Ministry of Water Resources, General Directorate for River Dredging Works executed dredging works for Kormatt Hassan section of Euphrates in Sook Al-shiokh. It is 40km away from Thi-Qar governorate. The project is aiming at removing median islands and accumulated sedimentation in the middle of the river during the past years.
